The IAAP Foundation offers housing subsidies to administrative professionals who are in need and qualify for financial assistance. The housing assistance program is designed to assist those that do not have the financial resources to secure an affordable place to call their home upon retirement.
Applications for the 2019-2020 assistance cycle are now closed. Applications for next year's cycle can be downloaded HERE.
PROGRAM DETAILS: There will be one 12-month assistance period, from October through September each year. Upon approval, assistance will be provided at a flat rate of $150.00 per month for eligible applicants. Applications are accepted between Aug. 1- Aug. 31 each year.
Minimum Qualifications Include:
Must provide verifiable documentation of employment as an administrative professional at the time of their retirement and have been employed as an administrative professional for a minimum of 15 years during their working career;
Must be 62 years of age or older;
If U.S. resident, must have a verifiable income level of either Very Low or Extremely Low, as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development;
If Canadian resident, must have a verifiable income level that falls within the assistance range, as defined by the Canadian Council on Social Development Poverty Lines;
Must show proof of residency, or intended residency, in an independent senior living or retirement community, or other third-party rental unit, which ownership is independent from any parties related to the tenant;
Must not have transferred assets to third parties within the past three (3) years, which transfers caused the applicant to have a need for housing assistance which otherwise would not have occurred.
